Insulated metal wall panel with a non-combustible mineral wool core in place of foam plastic. Specified where a fire-resistance rating is required or where the designer wants to stay outside IBC Chapter 26 entirely — mineral wool is not a foam plastic, so the NFPA 285 requirement in IBC 2603.5 is not triggered. Available in 1, 2 and 3 hour rated build-ups. Same facings, widths, joints and finishes as the PIR wall panel. One caveat worth knowing: the 2024 IBC added Section 1402.7, which can pull noncombustible-core products with combustible adhesives or coatings back into NFPA 285 above 40 feet. Below 40 ft, and in 2015/2018/2021 IBC jurisdictions, this panel sidesteps that requirement.
